Deletion is irreversible and removes all your listings, messages, favorites, and profile data. Deactivation (if available) hides your profile and pauses activity without permanent loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Important Before You Start<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Back up anything important: screenshots of conversations, saved ads, or listings you want to keep.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your data may be retained for legal\/compliance reasons even after deletion (per privacy policy).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deletion usually takes effect immediately, but some traces (e.g., old messages in others\u2019 inboxes) may remain visible to recipients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You cannot delete if you have active paid promotions or unresolved reports (clear these first).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step-by-Step: Deleting Your Account (Permanent)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Log in<\/strong> to your markto.ch account one last time (https:\/\/www.markto.ch).<br>Use a trusted device \u2014 this is your final access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click your <strong>profile icon<\/strong> or display name (top-right corner).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Settings<\/strong>, <strong>Account Settings<\/strong>, <strong>Privacy<\/strong>, or <strong>My Account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll to the bottom or look for a section called:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Delete Account<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Close Account<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Delete My Data<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Account Deletion<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Permanently Delete Account<\/strong><br>(It\u2019s often under Privacy, Security, or a dedicated \u201cAccount\u201d tab.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click <strong>Delete Account<\/strong> oder <strong>Request Deletion<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Read the confirmation message carefully \u2014 it usually explains:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What will be removed (listings, messages, profile)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That the action is irreversible<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any waiting period (rarely 14\u201330 days for EU\/Swiss users)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Confirm your identity:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Re-enter your password<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or enter a verification code sent to your email\/phone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select a reason (optional): e.g., \u201cNo longer using the service\u201d, \u201cPrivacy concerns\u201d, \u201cOther\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Confirm Deletion<\/strong>, <strong>Delete Permanently<\/strong>, or <strong>Yes, Delete My Account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You\u2019ll see a final confirmation screen (e.g., \u201cYour account has been scheduled for deletion\u201d).<br>You are immediately logged out and can no longer sign in.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>If Deactivation Is Available (Temporary Pause)<\/strong><br>Some platforms offer deactivation instead of (or before) deletion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Look for <strong>Deactivate Account<\/strong>, <strong>Temporarily Disable<\/strong>, or <strong>Pause Account<\/strong> in the same section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose this if you might return later \u2014 your data is hidden but preserved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reactivate by logging in again (or following any reactivation link sent by email).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>After Deletion \/ Deactivation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You cannot log in or recover the account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any active listings are automatically removed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Messages may still appear in other users\u2019 inboxes (but without your profile link).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you change your mind immediately: try logging in again quickly \u2014 some platforms have a short grace period (e.g., 14 days).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To start fresh later: create a new account with a different email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Troubleshooting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>No delete option visible?<\/strong> \u2192 Contact support: footer \u2192 <strong>Contact<\/strong> \/ <strong>Support<\/strong> \u2192 message: \u201cI would like to permanently delete my account.
