Turning On/Off Alerts for New Messages, Favorite Listings, or Price Drops
markto.ch sends alerts (email and/or push notifications) when important events happen, such as new messages, activity on your favorite listings, or price drops on saved items. You can easily turn these on or off to match your preference.
How to Access Alert Settings
- Log in to your markto.ch account.
- Click your profile icon or name in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings, Account Settings, Preferences, Notifications, or Alerts.
- Look for a section called Notifications, Email & Push Alerts, Alert Preferences, or Manage Alerts.
Common Alerts You Can Control
Toggle each one individually:
- New messages or replies to your ads
- New activity on your favorite/saved listings (someone viewed, contacted, or messaged about them)
- Price drops on items you have favorited or saved searches
- New matching ads for your saved searches
- Your own ad status (expiring soon, renewed, marked sold)
- Account security alerts (new login, password change)
Step-by-Step: Turning Alerts On or Off
- In the Notifications section, find the specific alert types listed above.
- Use the toggle switches or checkboxes next to each:
- On / green = receive this alert (email and/or push)
- Off / gray = no alert for this event
- For push notifications (browser/mobile pop-ups):
- Make sure browser permissions are allowed (you may see a prompt to “Allow” notifications from markto.ch).
- Some platforms have separate toggles for Email vs Push — adjust both if available.
- Click Save, Update, Apply Changes, or Save Preferences at the bottom.
Recommended Settings for Most Users
- On: New messages & replies (critical for quick responses)
- On: Security alerts (protects your account)
- Optional On: Price drops & new matching ads (great for deal hunters)
- Off: Favorite listing views (can be noisy if many people browse)
- Off: Promotional or summary emails
Quick Tips
- Changes take effect immediately for future events.
- On mobile: Push alerts work best if you add markto.ch to your home screen (via browser menu → “Add to Home Screen”).
- Too many notifications? Turn off everything except messages and security, then gradually re-enable others.
- No alerts arriving? Check spam/junk folder for emails; ensure browser notifications are enabled in your device settings.
Troubleshooting
- Alerts still coming after turning off? Log out/in or refresh the page.
- No push option? Your browser may block notifications — check device settings → Notifications → markto.ch → Allow.
- Missing specific toggles? markto.ch may bundle some alerts — contact support via the “Contact” link at the bottom if needed.
