Confirming the Deal: Final Checks Before Handing Over the Item or Money on markto.ch

The last 2–5 minutes of a meetup are the most important — do these quick final checks to avoid regrets, scams, or misunderstandings. Both buyer and seller should go through them calmly and together.

Final Checks – Buyer’s Side (Before Paying)

  • Inspect the item thoroughly
  • Test it works (turn on electronics, plug in appliances, ride bike, open/close furniture).
  • Check for hidden damage (scratches, dents, missing parts, odors, functionality).
  • Compare to ad photos and description — no surprises.
  • For large items: Verify all accessories/parts are included.
  • Confirm condition matches what was promised
Ask seller: “Everything still as described? Any issues you didn’t mention?”
    Seller should answer openly.
  • Verify quantity / completeness
Count pieces (e.g., chair set of 4, full Lego set, all cables).
  • Agree payment is ready
Show cash or open TWINT app.
“I have CHF 180 cash ready — shall we count it now?”

Final Checks – Seller’s Side (Before Handing Over)

  • Count the money
  • Count cash together in front of you (small bills help).
  • For TWINT: Watch the transfer come in live, confirm amount and sender.
  • Say: “Looks good, CHF 180 received/thanks — here’s the item.”
  • Confirm buyer is happy
Ask: “All good? Anything else you want to check?”
Give them time — don’t rush handover.
  • Hand over everything promised
Include box, charger, keys, manuals, receipts, warranty papers.
If disassembled: Make sure buyer knows how to reassemble or take photos.

Joint Final Confirmation (Both Sides)

  • Restate the deal verbally
“So we agreed: CHF 180 cash, item as seen, no returns — correct?”
    Both say “Yes” or nod.
  • Take quick photos (optional but smart)
  • Photo of item with both people (discreetly).
  • Photo of money handover or TWINT confirmation screen.
  • Helps if any dispute later (rare but good record).
  • Exchange contacts if needed
“If anything comes up in the next hour, WhatsApp me — here’s my number again.”
  • Say goodbye politely
“Thanks for the smooth deal! Enjoy the [item]!”
“Pleasure doing business — safe drive home!”

Red Flags to Watch For (Stop & Leave If…)

  • Seller rushes you to pay without full inspection.
  • Buyer tries to take item before paying.
  • Sudden last-minute price change demands.
  • Item looks very different from photos.
  • Person seems nervous, avoids eye contact, or brings friends unexpectedly.

Do these checks every time — even for small deals. It takes 2 minutes and prevents 99% of problems. Once everything checks out, hand over the item/money, smile, and walk away happy.

Safe handovers and great deals! ✅
