Our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) ensures markto.ch remains a safe, fair space for buying and selling. By using the platform, you agree to follow these rules. Violations may lead to content removal, account restrictions, or bans.
This policy covers all interactions: listings, messages, reviews, and transactions. We reserve the right to enforce it at our discretion.
Permitted Activities
These are welcome on markto.ch:
- Posting legitimate second-hand or new items like electronics, clothing, vehicles, furniture, and local services.
- Honest communication between buyers and sellers.
- Fair reviews based on real experiences.
- Using premium features like boosted listings or analytics.
- Advertising compliant services (e.g., tutoring, repairs).
Listings must include accurate descriptions, real photos, and fair pricing.
Prohibited Activities
Do not do these, as they harm our community:
Illegal or Harmful Content
- Selling illegal items: Drugs, weapons, explosives, counterfeit goods, stolen property, or anything banned by Swiss/EU law.
- Promoting violence, hate speech, terrorism, or discrimination.
- Sharing malware, viruses, or phishing links.
Fraud and Scams
- Fake listings to collect payments or info.
- Impersonating others or creating misleading profiles.
- Overpayment schemes, fake checks, or unauthorized refunds.
- Bait-and-switch tactics.
Abusive Behavior
- Harassment, threats, bullying, or spam messages.
- Posting personal info without consent (doxxing).
- Manipulating reviews (e.g., self-reviews or paid feedback).
Commercial Misuse
- Mass spam or unrelated ads.
- Pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing, or job scams.
- Professional resellers without disclosure (if volume-based restrictions apply).
Technical Abuse
- Using bots, scrapers, or automated tools without permission.
- Overloading the site or interfering with others’ use.
Listing Guidelines
Keep listings compliant:

- Renew expired listings honestly—no price hikes without updates.
Enforcement and Reporting
We monitor proactively and respond to reports:
- Report violations via the “Report” button on listings/profiles.
- Our team reviews within 24-48 hours.
- Actions: Warning, removal, temporary/permanent ban.
Repeated issues lead to permanent exclusion. Appeals via support ticket.
