markto.ch is a minimalistic local classifieds platform with no dedicated messaging inbox, threaded chats, or conversation history stored on the site itself. As a result, there is no way to delete messages or conversations directly on markto.ch — because the platform doesn’t keep a persistent record of your communications in the first place.

All “deletion” happens in the external tools you use for actual communication (email, WhatsApp, phone/SMS). Here’s how it works in practice and what you can do to clean up after a deal.

Why markto.ch Has No Delete Option

  • Internal “Nachricht senden” / “Message” forms (when available) only forward your text to the seller’s email — nothing is stored in a markto.ch messages section for either party.
  • No user-facing inbox, chat log, or sent/received folder exists on the site.
  • Once sent, messages live in your email client or messaging app — not on markto.ch servers in a retrievable way.
  • This design keeps the platform fast, private, and low-maintenance for local Swiss trading.

How to “Delete” Conversations – By Tool

  1. Email (most initial platform messages go here)
  • Open your email app (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud Mail, etc.).
  • Find the thread:
    • Search for keywords like the item title, seller’s name, “markto.ch”, or the price/location.
  • Actions you can take:
    • Delete the entire thread (moves to Trash/Bin).
    • Archive it (hides from inbox but keeps searchable).
    • Empty Trash after 30 days (permanent deletion on most providers).
  • Pro tip: If you’re done with a deal, delete or archive to keep your inbox clean.
  1. WhatsApp (where 90%+ of markto.ch deals continue)
  • Open the specific chat with the buyer/seller.
  • Options:
    • Delete for me: Tap the chat → More options (three dots) → Delete chat → “Delete for me” (removes it from your phone only; the other person still has the history).
    • Delete for everyone: Only possible within ~2 days of sending a message (and only for your own messages) — not useful for whole conversations.
    • Clear chat: Removes all messages from your view but keeps the chat entry.
    • Archive chat: Hides it without deleting (access via Archived section).
  • Most users: After successful pickup/payment → Delete chat for me to declutter.
  1. Phone Calls / SMS
  • Go to your phone’s call log or Messages app.
  • Long-press the call entry or conversation thread → Delete / Delete conversation.
  • No way to delete from the other person’s phone.
  1. If Using markto.ch Account Notifications (very rare)
  • Log in to markto.ch → check if there’s any basic notifications area (e.g., under your profile).
  • There is typically no delete option even here — these are usually just email alerts anyway.
  • Clear browser cache/cookies if you want to remove any temporary site data.

  • After a deal is done (pickup completed, payment received): Delete or archive the WhatsApp chat and email thread right away.
  • Use search in email/WhatsApp to find old conversations if you ever need proof (e.g., agreed price or pickup location).
  • Keep screenshots of important agreements (price confirmation, condition photos) in a separate folder — don’t rely on chat history.
  • If privacy is a big concern: Use temporary/secondary email or a dedicated WhatsApp number for classifieds.

Bottom line: markto.ch doesn’t store or let you manage messages — deletion is fully in your hands via your email and messaging apps. This keeps things simple and private for local deals.
