Reporting Suspicious Messages or Users on markto.ch
markto.ch provides basic tools to report problematic ads, users, or behavior. Since the platform has no direct in-chat “report user” button or persistent messaging inbox, reporting focuses on the listing or through support contact.
How to Report on markto.ch
- Report the Listing (Most Common & Fastest)
- Open the suspicious ad.
- Scroll to the bottom or look near the seller info / description.
- Click the small flag icon or link labeled “Melden” (Report) or “Problem melden”.
- Select a reason from the options (e.g., Spam, Betrug/Scam, Belästigung/Harassment, Falsche Angaben, Verbotener Artikel).
- Add a short description if prompted (include key details like suspicious messages, username if visible, or scam signs).
- Submit → The markto.ch team reviews and may remove the ad, warn, or suspend the account.
- Contact markto.ch Support Directly (For Messages or Serious Issues)
- Go to any page footer → click “Kontaktieren Sie uns” (Contact us) or “Kontakt & Sitemap”.
- Fill out the contact form:
- Your name/email (use a real one for follow-up)
- Subject: e.g. “Suspicious user / scam attempt”
- Message: Describe clearly:
- Ad link / title
- Username (if shown)
- What happened (e.g., “Asked for advance TWINT payment without meeting”, “Threatening messages via WhatsApp”)
- Attach screenshots of messages (important!)
- Submit → Support investigates; response time usually 1–3 days.
After Reporting
- Block the person immediately:
- WhatsApp: Open chat → tap name → Block + Report
- Phone: Block number in your phone settings
- Email: Mark as spam or create filter to delete
- Save evidence:
Keep screenshots of all messages, ad URL, timestamps, payment requests, threats — do not delete them. - If serious (threats, harassment, attempted fraud):
- File a police report online via your cantonal police website (most have easy forms) or call non-emergency 0848 117 117.
- Include all screenshots and chat history.
Quick Tips
- Report even if you just blocked them — helps markto.ch identify repeat offenders.
- Do non engage further with suspicious users (no replies, no “testing” them).
- If the issue involves money loss or identity theft → contact your bank/TWINT support immediately + police.
Reporting helps keep markto.ch safer for everyone. Most users are honest locals, but flagging bad actors quickly protects the community.
Stay safe and report promptly! 🛡️
