Setting Contact Preferences: Phone, Email, Chat, or In-Person Only on markto.ch
markto.ch lets you control how buyers reach you by choosing which contact methods appear on your ads. There is no single “contact preferences” page — settings are per-ad during creation or editing.
How to Set Your Preferred Contact Methods
- When creating or editing an ad
- Go to “Meine Anzeigen” → create new or edit existing ad.
- Scroll to the contact section (usually near the bottom, labeled “Kontakt” or “Ihre Kontaktdaten”).

- Recommended combinations for different privacy/speed needs
- Fastest & most common: Show WhatsApp link only (wa.me/yournumber) — buyers message without seeing your number until you reply.
- Balanced privacy: Hide phone, use platform message form + add “WhatsApp preferred – write first” in description.
- Maximum privacy: Hide everything → write “No messages, pickup only after viewing ad – meet at public spot if interested.” (Rare, but used by very cautious sellers.)
- Email/formal only: Show email + hide phone (good for services, rentals, higher-value items).
- Tips to enforce your preference
- Add a line in the ad description:
“Kontakt bevorzugt per WhatsApp”
“Nur E-Mail-Anfragen, keine Telefonate bitte”
“Keine Nachrichten – nur persönliche Abholung nach Besichtigung” - If someone uses the wrong method: Politely redirect:
“Hi, ich bevorzuge WhatsApp für die Koordination – hier ist der Link: wa.me/…” - For rentals/services: Specify in ad: “Anfragen bitte per Nachricht mit Datum/Uhrzeit-Wunsch.”
