Notifications Not Arriving for New Messages on markto.ch

markto.ch has no in-app push notifications, no bell icon, and no dedicated message center with alerts. “Notifications” for new messages usually mean email notifications sent to your registered email when someone contacts you via the “Nachricht senden” form.

If you’re not receiving them, here are the most common causes and fixes:

1. Check Your Email Inbox & Spam Folder First

  • markto.ch forwards incoming messages directly to your registered email (usually from an address like [email protected] or [email protected]).
  • Fixes:
  • Search your inbox for “markto.ch”, the sender’s name, item title, price, or keywords like “Anfrage”, “Nachricht”, “Kontakt”.
  • Check Spam / Junk, Promotions, Social, or All Mail folders.
  • Mark any markto.ch emails as “Not spam” so future ones arrive in inbox.

2. Verify Your Email Address Is Correct

  • Wrong or old email → no notifications reach you.
  • Fixes:
  • Log in to markto.ch → go to profile/settings → check “E-Mail-Adresse”.
  • Update if needed → save changes.
  • Test by sending yourself a message from another ad (or ask a friend to message your listing).

3. Email Provider Blocking / Filtering

  • Gmail, Outlook, ProtonMail, etc., sometimes auto-filter or block forwarded emails.
  • Fixes:
  • Add markto.ch domains (markto.ch, *.markto.ch) to your contacts or safe senders list.
  • In Gmail: Settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses → create filter for “from:markto.ch” → Never send to Spam.
  • Check your provider’s spam rules or blocked senders list.

4. You’re Not Logged In or Account Issues

  • Some features (including reliable email forwarding) require an active, verified account.
  • Fixes:
  • Log out → log back in.
  • Check account status in profile (any verification email pending?).
  • If account looks inactive → contact support via footer “Kontaktieren Sie uns”.

5. Seller Is Replying Outside Email

  • Many sellers switch to WhatsApp/phone immediately (especially if you included those in your first message).
  • Fixes:
  • Check WhatsApp for new chats from unknown numbers.
  • Look at SMS / call log for missed calls/texts.
  • Search your phone for the item name or price.

6. Platform or Temporary Glitch

  • Rare, but email delivery can delay or fail during high load / technical issues.
  • Fixes:
  • Wait 1–2 hours and ask the other person to resend or confirm they received yours.
  • Try sending a test message to another active ad.

Most “no notification” cases are solved by checking spam or adding markto.ch to safe senders. Once fixed, you’ll get emails promptly when someone messages your ad.
